Fashion U Class of 2013

This past weekend has been a great one. I was able to attend Teen Vogue's Fashion University. I has the privilege of seeing so many people who work in the industry. I learned a lot and had a great time in New York City. I made sure to document everything to share with all of you.

Friday night was a pre-party hosted by Express

The first seminar on Saturday morning was of Amy Astley and the Teen Vogue Editors, including Andrew Bevan, Gloria Braucht, ElaineWelteroth, Sheena Smith, and Dana Mathews.

The next seminar was by sisters Danielle and Jodie Synder, the jewelry designing duo of Dannijo.

After Dannijo was Teen Vogue intern turned fashion designer Thakoon Panichgul.

Jessie Randall was one designer I hadn't heard of before this weekend. Jessie and her husband started the Loeffler Randall shoe brand launched in 2005 when Jessie couldn't find shoes she wanted anywhere.

Express designers Dean Mickelwhite and Anna Wen also had their own seminar. It was really interesting about how they work with such a large design team where each of them is in charge of a smaller design team for their category (Dean is head of Menswear and Anna is head of Knits).

The last seminar on Saturday was a bloggers seminar. Emily Weiss & Nick Axelrod of Into The Gloss and Stephanie Mark & Jake Rosenburg of The Coveteur talked about how they started their blogs a few years ago as a side project and their journey of becoming full time bloggers.

After a quick chat with Amy Astley, there was a viewing of The Editors Eye, which is a documentary about the Vogue editors.

And that was a quick summery of my weekend at Teen Vogue University. If you were there this weekend leave a comment below and let me know what you thought.
